A juvenile complaint was filed Friday morning against a 14-year-old girl who allegedly assaulted her mother during a dispute concerning a “skimpy” outfit she planned on wearing to school, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Police said they were called to the family’s home at about 8 a.m., and upon arriving they heard the girl yelling and cursing at her mother, and also hitting the locked bathroom door with a hairbrush.
The woman reportedly told police her daughter began the morning arguing with her younger sister, and after her mother told her she could not wear the “short and skimpy” outfit she had on, there was a tussle and the woman called 911.
Police said they were previously called to the home due to the girl’s behavior, but a Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice official told them not to detain her. A complaint was to be filed by police in Juvenile Court charging the girl with simple battery, disorderly conduct, and being an unruly child.
