A burglar tampered with the front door of a Tomrick Drive residence between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday to get inside and steal a laptop computer, iPad, jewelry and a TV with a total value of about $1,500, Athens-Clarke County police said.
A panel to the door was removed, allowing the thief to unlock the deadbolt from inside, according to police.
