Athens-Clarke County police are investigating a convicted felon and a drug trafficking operation with apparent ties to a motel on Atlanta Highway.
According to a police incident report, 44-year-old Ruth Street resident Donald Anthony Williams Jr. was under investigation for the offenses of trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
Though the location for the alleged incident is listed in the report as Budget Inn, Williams was taken into custody at a convenience store on Epps Bridge Parkway. He was served with a parole violation warrant by the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, which took custody of Williams as the investigation continued, according to the police report.
