Athens-Clarke County police said they were seeking felony warrants on a man in connection with an alleged altercation Friday afternoon with a former girlfriend at Dairy Queen on Oak Street.
Melboris Larafael Mitchell, 28, allegedly reached into the widow of the woman’s car at the drive-thru and snatched a wallet that was on her lap, police said. As he returned to his SUV, the woman’s teenage daughter got out and attempted to retrieve the wallet, at which time Mitchell allegedly struck her, and an altercation involving him, his ex and the daughter ensued, according to police.
There were several witnesses to the fight, according to police, who said Mitchell fled in a vehicle before they arrived on the scene.
Police said they observed that the woman had a busted lip and her daughter’s arms were scratched. The woman had a current court protective order against Mitchell. Warrants were to be sought charging Mitchell with robbery, aggravated stalking, battery and cruelty to children, police said.
