An Athens woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with two separate thefts, one involving a gun and the other a wallet, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Police said they had contact with 20-year-old Kaliyah Tykera Walter at Five Points Bottle Shop where she claimed to have been solicited by someone, according to police. An officer ran a check on her information and learned she was wanted on two arrest warrants, police said.
The warrants were for a case involving a burglary in which Walter allegedly stole a handgun that she later sold for two oxycodone pills, police said. She was in possession of a wallet police later determined to have been stolen from a worker’s truck at Evergreen Memorial Garden, the cemetery is located adjacent to the liquor store, police said.
