An Athens man was arrested last weekend at a westside apartment complex where he allegedly stalked his former girlfriend while armed with a handgun and threatened to kill her, Athens-Clarke County police said.

Mark Willie Davis, 22, allegedly showed up outside the woman's bedroom window at Timber Chase apartments on Sycamore Drive, pointed the gun at her and said, "I'm gonna kill all you ...," according to police, who said the man and woman have children together.

Davis was not supposed to have any kind of contact with the woman because when he was convicted last summer of family violence offenses, staying away from the victim was a condition of his probated sentence.

The woman called police at about 6:25 a.m. Sunday to report that Davis had been waiting for her to return home, and as she entered her apartment, he walked in behind her and began questioning where she had been. She said that since breaking off her relationship with Davis two months ago, he had been calling and texting her often, wanting to know where she was and who she was dating, according to police.

Davis reportedly left the apartment after the woman told him she was calling police, but he later appeared outside her bedroom window, where police said he allegedly pulled the gun from his jacket, racked the slide to possibly chamber a bullet then pointed the weapon at the woman and made the alleged death threat, police said.

"(The woman) explained that she immediately felt scared and got away from the window," according to police. "She said that she felt that he would do it, referring to pulling the trigger and killing her."

When police arrived at the apartment complex, Davis was seen walking from the woman's building and going into another building, where officers maintained a perimeter while waiting for a judge to sign arrest warrants.

Davis was taken into custody on those warrants, which charged him with stalking and aggravated assault. He was additionally charged with felony drug offenses, which were not explained in the police report.
