A 15-year-old boy reportedly threatened another teen with a gun because he blamed the victim for “snitching” on him for committing a burglary, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The victim, who also was 15, told police the suspect and a 16-year-old girl asked him to commit a burglary with them on Towne Square Terrace, but he declined. After the girl allegedly bragged about her and the suspect burglarizing a specific home, where the victim’s friend lived, the victim told his friend who was responsible, police said.
While the victim was playing basketball outside his home, the two young burglars approached, with the boy pointing a gun at him and telling him “he better not be snitching, according to police.
The incident was not reported to police for a few days, when the victim’s mother found out about it from someone else, police said.
