A masked man armed with a gun robbed an employee of a westside hotel last Friday night, according to an incident report released Thursday by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
The clerk said he was in the library of Travel Inn at 898 W. Broad St. at about 9:50 p.m. when the man came in wearing a black bandana over his face and pointing a gun. He demanded all the money the victim had, according to police. After giving an undisclosed amount of the money from the cash register, the gunman demanded more and so the employee handed over all the money that was in his wallet, police said.
The man drove off in a black Chevrolet sedan that did not have a license plate, according to police.
The robber was described as a slim black male who was about 5-foot-10 and dressed all in black. He carried a blue bag into which the hotel employee placed the money, police said.
