An Athens-Clarke County police officer fought early Wednesday morning with a known gang member found lurking at Rolling Ridge apartments, police said.
Senior Police Officer Ryan Giles was on foot patrol at the complex off Kathwood Drive shortly after midnight when he saw a man wearing a dark hoodie crouched in the shadows behind one of the buildings, according to a police incident report.
