About 100 people Saturday afternoon formed a line that stretched from the door of Sparrow’s Nest on Prince Avenue to the Christian ministry’s parking entrance on Cobb Street.
They were waiting for their turn inside, where another 100 or so people were sitting at tables in the sanctuary and having chicken dinners.
After the people in each group were done with their meals, they lined up again to get into a “store” at Sparrow’s Nest, where volunteers handed out coats, blankets, skull caps and personal hygiene products.
