A former University of Georgia employee and a student have been charged with stealing hundreds of textbooks.
UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said that in the unrelated cases the suspects stole a total of 950 textbooks and re-sold them to book stores on and off campus for nearly $28,000.
Williamson called the charges “huge,” not just because of the amount of stolen property involved, but because they shed light on a thriving textbook black market.
