An aggressive panhandler asked the wrong person ‑ an off-duty Athens-Clarke County police officer ‑ for money on Sunday.
The officer was dressed in civilian clothes and with his 10-year-old daughter when 51-year-old Larry Randy Williams accosted him at the Athens Plaza shopping center on North Avenue.
After being warned off by the officer, Williams allegedly followed him and his daughter while cursing, according to a police incident report.
