A man was sentenced last week to life in prison without parole for the murders last year of an Athens resident and a man and woman in Bowman.
During a sentencing hearing May 2 in Elbert County Superior Court, Cesar Augusto Suarez, 27, pleaded guilty to all three murders as part of negotiated deal to keep his girlfriend, a co-conspirator, from serving prison time, Northern Circuit District Attorney Parks White said Tuesday.
White said Suarez admitted he was the shooter in the slayings, but his brother, Diego Ernesto Suarez, 24, also was charged with the three killings.
