A former Athens-Clarke County police dispatcher recently pleaded guilty in federal court to a felony charge stemming from a conspiracy between her husband and others to flood the Athens area with counterfeit $100 bills three years ago.
Cynthia Ramirez-Bernal was a police communications officer in the summer of 2011, when her husband Darley Fernando Bernal and others passed the phoney C-notes to local businesses, according to court documents.
