Wesley McDuffie, 51, and Harmony Tanner, 21, were arrested early Saturday when they were both found with their pants down in some bushes near the First Presbyterian Church on East Hancock Avenue, according to Athens-Clarke County police.
They were found after someone called 911 to report seeing McDuffie pulling Tanner into the bushes, according to police, which the caller thought seemed strange because of the age difference.
Tanner explained she was waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up from work when she saw McDuffie, who she had known for a while. She said she thought the homeless man was taking her to the camp where he slept.
McDuffie and Tanner were both charged with public indecency.
