An employee of the Loomis armored car company left his loaded gun in the men’s room at Bojangles’ on Atlanta Highway on Tuesday morning, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Police said they were called to the restaurant for the found weapon at about 9 a.m., and the 59-year-old employee came back to retrieve it, according to the report. The uniformed guard, who was listed in the report as a Covington resident, told police that the .45-caliber handgun belonged to Loomis and that he “did not want to be involved with a gun report in any fashion.”
