Tracy Faust, 56, of Carriage Court, was arrested Sunday afternoon after he pulled a gun on a his nephew during a family cookout at a Vintage Court residence, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The 22-year-old nephew told police he was cooking for the gathering when he noticed Faust and his girlfriend had helped themselves to food before children who were there had anything to eat, according to police. When the nephew admonished Faust, he and his uncle exchanged words in which Faust reportedly said he “had something” for his nephew before driving away.
Faust returned with a gun, pointed it at his nephew and shouted things at him, police said. The nephew was unable to articulate any specific threats Faust might have made, but he told police he felt as though his uncle would shoot him.
Faust was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
