Two men were arrested on drug and firearms charges Thursday afternoon during an investigation by plainclothes Athens-Clarke County police officers.
Members of the Crime Suppression Unit were in an unmarked vehicle in the area of Marathon on Lexington Road when they “made contact” for an unspecified reason with Karel Mikarta Lundy and Demetrius L’Twan Williams, according to a police report.
“After a brief investigation,” both men were arrested and “a quantity” of cocaine, marijuana, and pills were seized, as was a firearm, according to the police report.
Lundy, 22, of Riverbend Parkway and Williams, 32, of Nellie Mae Drive were each charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and giving false information. Williams was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana and violating probation.
