A woman reported Tuesday that as she and someone else were walking from Baxter Street toward South Milledge Avenue, a naked man ran up to them from the shadows in a parking lot and said, “Excuse me, excuse me. I’m sorry,” Athens-Clarke County police said.
The woman told police the suspect was an older white male with something on his head, and when asked whether it was a headband, she replied that it was, according to police.
The question was apparently asked because in February a University of Georgia student reported to police that she was accosted by a white man in his 50s who was wearing nothing but a headband.
The woman involved in last week’s incident did not want to give her name to authorities, and neither did the person she was with.
