Austin Taylor Brown, 30, of Fourth Street, was arrested Wednesday afternoon when he was found unresponsive in a car behind Wal-Mart on Lexington Road, after having inhaled fumes from aerosol cans, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Next to Brown on the seat of his pickup was a can of dust and lint remover that was cold to the touch, which police said indicated it was recently used. Two empty cans of the same product were observed on the vehicle’s floor, according to police.
Brown, who police said was confused and disoriented upon being roused, declined to be checked out by EMS, police said. He was charged with intentionally inhaling fumes.
