Athens-Clarke County police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a weekend rape that reportedly occurred in the downtown area.
The assault was said to have occurred at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, and may have included the offense of kidnapping.
A forensic artist with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation recently met with the 21-year-old victim to develop a sketch of the suspect, which was made public late Wednesday afternoon.
Additionally, police announced a reward of up to $1,000 was being offered for information leading to an arrest.
The suspect was described as a black male with a brown complexion who was in his 30s or 40s. He was said to bald, with a stocky build and brown eyes.
