A University of Georgia student reported he was at The Hill apartment complex on Oconee Street when he heard a gunshot from an apartment building on China Street, then saw a man holding a gun running away and a second man limping away, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Police said they recovered a 40-caliber cartridge casing but did not find any blood or other evidence that someone was shot.
