A 38-year-old Whit Davis Road resident was hospitalized with unspecified injuries Thursday night after a minivan she was driving crashed on Barnett Shoals near Bob Godfrey Road, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The woman apparently lost control of the vehicle when is crossed over the oncoming lane, struck a mailbox and then left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree, according to police.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Athens Regional Medical Center.
An investigation into the crash is under way, police said.
