Athens-Clarke County police said they arrested a Gainesville man Tuesday night after they had contact with him at the Bulldog Inn on Commerce Road and subsequently learned authorities in Hall County held a warrant for his arrest.
In an incident report released on Thursday, the reason for police responding to the motel was not indicated.
The suspect, 26-year-old Anthony Tirado Rivera, was said by police to be “very intoxicated, most likely under the influence of other drugs,” resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground to be handcuffed.
He was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and Hall County officials placed a hold on him at the Clarke County Jail.
