A 21-year-old University of Georgia student reported early Thursday that a motorist threatened her with a gun after they were involved in a minor traffic accident on Barnett Shoals Road, Athens-Clarke County police said.
She told police after the other motorist struck her car while changing lanes, he stopped to ask whether she was alright. When she told the man she was going to call police, he allegedly pulled up his shirt to reveal a handgun in the waistband of his pants, returned to his vehicle and drove away, according to police.
The student said she followed the other vehicle, described as possibly a Honda with a partial Georgia tag of LBM, until she lost sight of the vehicle after it entered the Athens Perimeter, according to police.
