A 28-year-old Sunny Hills Drive resident reported he was assaulted by a woman he did not know while standing at a bus stop in the 300 block of North Avenue, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The man reportedly told police he was waiting for his wife to come out of CVS nearby when the woman punched him in the mouth. When he grabbed the woman, police said, the woman reportedly bit his arm and ran away.
The man said he immediately called 911 but went home because it was taking police and EMS too long to arrive, according to police. He told officers he was going to allow the bite wound to heal on its own but decided to go to Athens Regional Medical Center at his mother-in-law’s urging, police said.
