Latisha Marie Gresham, 33, of Susan Circle, was arrested Monday night in connection with an investigation of a complaint she threatened another woman with knives during a dispute over a man, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The alleged 29-year-old victim said while using the shower at a neighbor’s home on Moreland Avenue, Gresham used a kitchen knife to slide open the shower curtain and then raised the knife as though she was going to stab, according to police. The alleged victim reportedly grabbed Gresham’s wrist and overpowered the woman, causing her to drop the knife. Gresham allegedly left, but then came back with two knives, though she did not make any threatening gestures. The alleged victim again grabbed Gresham and traded punches with her during a struggle in which both women ended up on the floor, police said. The alleged victim told police she got off of Gresham when she complained she could not breathe, at which time Gresham left the residence.
Police were called to the residence a second time, after Gresham returned, at which time she gave officer a fake name. She was arrested and charged with giving false information but was not charged “at this time” for the alleged attempted assault on the woman in the shower, police said.
