A 21-year-old University of Georgia student who was stabbed and critically injured by another student this month was recently released from the hospital and is recovering at his home in southeast Athens.
Fillip Mirzoev said a doctor told him he was lucky to be alive, as a knife wound to his chest cut an artery that resulted in significant blood loss and a collapsed lung.
“The seriousness of my injury was not known until I did reach the hospital, after which I was told I was a very lucky young man to have survived,” Mirzoev said.
