A Massachusetts man was arrested Tuesday for possession of medical marijuana.
Athens-Clarke County police discovered the marijuana after stopping his van for a traffic violation, according to a police report.
Christopher Bishop, 21, told police he had a prescription, and that he was in town on a business-related trip. Police said Massachusetts law does not allow prescribed marijuana to be transported out of the state and Georgia does not recognize other state’s laws.
Bishop was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and failure to obey a traffic control device.
