A 15-year old girl was charged with simple battery Tuesday night after she allegedly struck her mother in the face during a dispute over her communicating with older men, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The mother had already taken away the girl’s cellphone for talking with older men, and when she caught the girl using a computer tablet to continue the communications, she took away that device as well, at which time the girl struck her in the face, police said.
After being charged by police, the girl was released into her mother’s custody.
