Sara Moon Thaxton, 54, was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly using scissors to cut a man with whom she lived at University Oaks apartments on West Broad Street, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Police said they had been to the apartment earlier in the evening because of a dispute involving Moon and the 49-year-old victim, at which time the man was told he could remain in the apartment. The man said he was on the apartment’s lease and had been living with Thaxton for two months, according to police.
The man reportedly told police he was sitting in the living room watching TV when at about 9:30 p.m. Thaxton yelled from a bedroom charged out with a pair of scissors.
The man was treated at the scene by National EMS personnel for several long cuts on both forearms, police said.
Thaxton was charged with aggravated assault.
