Athens-Clarke County police said they were investigating a woman’s complaint she was assaulted Tuesday morning by a former boyfriend who then allegedly brandished a gun at people she was with at her neighborhood pool.
The 23-year-old victim said the suspect arrived uninvited at the pool, picked her up from a sitting position and threw her into a wood fence, according to police. He then allegedly punched the woman in the face and threw her into the pool.
The man allegedly pointed a pistol at the woman’s male friends, demanding to know who was having sex with the woman, police said. As the was leaving, the suspect broke off the side-view mirror of the woman’s car and kicked a dent in the tailgate, police said.
An officer wrote in a police incident report that he planned taking out warrants charging the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Adonis Jamal Taylor of Dement Street, with simple battery, criminal trespass and pointing a firearm at another person.
