A 23-year-old man reported he was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday during a home invasion at Clarke Gardens apartments.
The victim said he answered knocks on his front door at about 8:30 p.m., when he was confronted by two men brandishing handguns, according to Athens-Clarke County police. They reportedly entered the apartment and took a bag containing cash and two handguns, and after removing a cellphone from the victim’s pocket told the victim to lie on the floor and then left, police said.
The victim said he recognized the robbers from seeing them the night before at a nearby convenience store, police said. They reportedly had accents as though they were from Boston or Baltimore.
