A North Oconee High School graduate was recently named EMT of the year for the Athens area for 2014.
Tiffany Merritt won the honor from the Northeast Georgia EMS Council despite being only 23 years old and on the job for a relatively short period of time.
It took just three years for coworkers and supervisors to recognize the devotion and energy the young emergency medical technician brings with her to work each day while running ambulance calls for National EMS in Athens-Clarke and Oconee counties.
